Curtis R. Beers, Sr. 79, of Boonton, NJ
Curtis R. Beers, Sr. of Boonton , NJ, passed away on February 20, 2016 at Lincoln Park Care Center in Lincoln Park , NJ. Curtis was born and raised in Kunkletown, PA, and moved to Jersey City , NJ , before settling in Boonton.
Curtis served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Wisconsin, among his assignments from 1955-1958. Curtis worked for many years as a Gold Seal Boiler Operator in the Mountain Lakes School System. He also served as a deacon at the First Reformed Church in Boonton. Curtis was a member of American Legion Post #249 in Parsippany , NJ.
Curtis was predeceased by his beloved wife Mildred (nee Haas). He is survived by his loving children Cheryl Cullen and Carl , Jayne Turpin and Andrew , Curtis Jr. and Sandy , Kathaleen Aber and Rick and Kristeen Trecartin and Mark. Curtis also leaves to cherish his memory his adoring grandchildren Bradley , Matthew , Kayla , Melissa , Hannah , Jacqueline , Nathaniel , Hailey and Nickolas and great-grandchildren Patrick and Aubree. He is also survived by his sisters Jeanette Christman and Barbara Eckhardt.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016, at 1:00 PM at the First Reformed Church of Boonton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Curtis's name may be made to the First Reformed Church of Boonton.
