Obituary of Joseph Warganz

Joseph Warganz , 89 years old, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Merry Heart of Boonton Twp. He was born in Queens, NY, lived in Long Island, Texas, and Randolph before moving to Boonton 42 years ago. After graduating from Catholic University, he went to the Philippines where he taught high school for several years. He later worked for Catholic Relief Services in Bangladesh before returning to New York where he earned his Ph D at St. John’s University. Joseph was a Professor of Philosophy at County College of Morris, for 25 years. He was a past Chairman of the State Chapter for Right to Life; ran for Congress, unsuccessfully in 1978; was a member on the Boonton Republican Committee and on the Boonton Board of Education. He is survived by his loving wife Elisa (nee Perez) of 47 years; beloved father of Joseph Jr. and his wife Nicole; three cherished Grandchildren Zoe, Rainer and Xavier and beloved brother to Theresa Warganz. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 9:00 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street in Boonton, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St., in Boonton. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Boonton.
