Anthony Leo O’Donnell, 94.
Boonton, New Jersey
Anthony Leo O’Donnell (Leo)( Pop) entered into Heaven on April 8, 2014. He was 94 years young. He was born in Bayonne, NJ on October 19, 1919. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war he worked at Tidewater. He was a Post Office letter carrier until his retirement. Pop could not sit still so he worked at the Commercial Trust Bank in Jersey City for a short time.
He was predeceased in life by his father Cornelius, his mother Margaret (nee Devers), his first wife Eileen (nee Hanley), his brothers Willliam and Cornelius and his sister Margaret Toye.
He is survived by his loving wife Julia Geraldine (nee Allen), daughters Eileen McNally and her husband Dr. John McNally, Regina and her husband Michael Bonner, his son Brian, his sons Michael and his wife Kathleen, Thomas and his wife Patti. He is also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren and 15 beloved great grandchildren.
Pop lived a full and happy life. He will always be remembered for his quick wit. He loved being around family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., in Boonton. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, in Boonton. Interment will follow to Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
