Richard McGeghan, 93, of Boonton, passed away peacefully at Merry Heart of Boonton Twp, on June 5, 2014. He was born in Montville and lived throughout the Morris County area before settling in Boonton, 35 years ago. Richard proudly served in the US Army during WWII and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was a Welder and retired from Pamarco, in Roselle, NJ. and was a member of the Friendship House in Boonton Township.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late Catherine A. McGeghan (nee Martin); devoted father of Richard G. McGeghan and his wife Patricia, of Union; and loving brother of Florence Black; and survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., in Boonton at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Mount Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 3-7 PM at the Funeral Home.
