Obituary of Joseph R Makfinsky

Joseph R. Makfinsky, 89, Boonton Township Joseph R. Makfinsky 89, of Boonton Township, passed away on March 14, 2017 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. Joseph was born and raised in Woodbridge, NJ. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy prior to attending the University of Washington.He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and also played on the Washington Huskies football team. Upon graduation, Joseph returned to service in Naval Intelligence. Upon leaving the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant Commander, Joseph moved to South Jersey before settling Boonton Township in 1969. Joseph was employed as a contract engineer for ITT in Nutley, NJ (defense contractor). He did a lot of traveling for his job at Bechtel Construction including to Saudi Arabia, and was a proud member of the Military Officers Association of America. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy (nee Bryceland), his loving sons Joseph and John (Jade).He was also the cherished grandfather of Devin, Reagan and Andrew. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Dangler, Lewis and Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Service with military honors will be held at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.
