Obituary of Armando Basil Manocchio

Armando B. Manocchio, 88 of Bloomingdale Borough, formerly of Boonton, passed away on Saturday September 20, 2014. Armando was born and raised in Boonton, living in Florida and Barnegat, before moving to Bloomingdale Borough two months ago. Armando proudly served his country serving in the US Army from 1944-1946 where he received the Good Conduct Medal, the EAME Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After the war he was a supervisor with Drew Chemical in Boonton. Armando was a past member of the Boonton Elk’s, the Barnegat VFW Post, and was proud that he sang for Pope John II in Rome, with the Flagler Choir from Florida.
Armando was the beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Quackenbush) Manocchio, married 64 years. Devoted father to Karen Mitchell and her husband William, Patricia Picazio and her husband Jerry, Aimee Nason and her husband Jeffrey, Lynn Ann Reeves and her husband David, and the late Mary Manocchio. Loving brother of the late Paul Manocchio; cherished grandfather of Christina, Katelyn Andrew, Brett, Dana, Daniel, and Kelli.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home 312 West Main Street Boonton, NJ 07005 at 8:30 am; then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 910 Birch Street for the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Visiting will be held Thursday from 4-8 pm. Interment will take place at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Boonton. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerlewisandcarey.com.
