I am so sorry to hear of Mr. sgro's passing. He was my Vice Principal in 1984 at Teaneck High School. I worked in his office on my study halls for 3 years. I also served my senior service in his office. The skills he taught me carried me through college and life. He was a great man and educator. I was so prepared to go own my own after graduation, working and school because of his gift of accepting everyones gift and teaching you how to spread it on. Thank you

Was sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Sgro. I graduated from Teaneck High School in 1962 and I believe my friends and I were in one of his very first classes. He called me Charlotte for the longest time and I took a lot of ribbing from my classmates. But he quickly became a favored teacher from the beginning and we kept in touch for a few years after high school. Teaneck was lucky to have such a kind, dedicated and caring teacher. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

To Mr. Sgro's wife and family: My personal memories are of Mr. Sgro as my high school geography teacher in the 1960's. Being "geographically challenged," I had a hard time with the content in his class, but he helped me so much and was one of the kindest teachers I ever had. I was so "proud of him" when I learned later that he became an administrator. We were briefly in touch then, and I remember thinking about how many young lives he would impact in a meaningful way... Mr. Sgro's name came up again, so ironically, on the day he passed away. There was a facebook posting about favorite teachers on a "You Know You Were From Teaneck" site. Mr. Sgro was mentioned, and I responded in agreement about how wonderful he was. Then I shared my memories about him with my husband. The next day (today), I read about his passing, and on different sites, as the word spread, there has been an outpouring of beautiful notes written in his memory by students who had and loved him as a teacher and from those touched by his compassion and kindness when he was a beloved administrator. I only hope that you find peace and comfort in knowing how much Mr. Sgro meant to all of out there . What a wonderful wonderful man......
