Obituary of Charles Edward Helmstetter

Charles E. Helmstetter, Sr.,88, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Clares Hospital, in Denville. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ; then living in Pine Brook until 1951 before moving to Lake Hopatcong and back to Montville seven years ago. Charles proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Milk Man for O'Dowd Dairy in Pine Brook and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in various towns. He also was in the choir and Lector at Star of the Sea, in Lake Hopatcong.
Charles was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Werdann) Helmstetter; devoted father of Charles Jr. and his wife Patricia and the Late Susan Helmstetter; loving grandfather of Sean, Douglas, Paul and great granddaughter Zoey. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Frank, Nicholas, John, Joseph, Paul, Edward, Albert and Mary.
Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main St., Boonton, NJ 07005 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X RC Church, 24 Changebridge Rd., in Montville, NJ. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be arranged at a later date.
