Obituary of Edward John Bankos

Edward J. Bankos, 85 Boonton Twp., NJ Edward J. Bankos, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home with his loving family. He was born and raised in Boonton and lived in Boonton Township for 50 years. Mr. Bankos proudly served in the US Army as Sgt. 1st Class during the Korean War. Ed retired from Tetley Tea, in Morris Plains and was a Lifetime Member of the Boonton American Legion. Edward was the beloved husband, 57 years, of Mary (nee Granda) Bankos; loving father of Brian Bankos and his fiance Joice, and Brendan Bankos and his wife Kellie; cherished brother of Helen Rhoden and the late Mary Krisanda, Elizabeth Paluch and Ann Masar; loving grandfather of Brittany, Hannah, Megan and Jackson; and also surviving many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 8:00 AM at Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, in Boonton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, in MT. Lakes, NJ at 9:30 AM. Entombment will be at Locust Hill Cemetery, 168 North Sussex Street, Dover, NJ. Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
