MARY KRISTINA GONSKI, 98 years of age, Born 16 April 1925, she earned her angel wings on the 9 April 2024 at home in Towaco, New Jersey where she has lived with her family for the past 65 years. 

Funeral service will be held at St Puis X Church in Montville, NJ on Saturday 13, April 2024 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Saints Cyril and Methodius Cemetery located on Pine Street in Boonton, New Jersey.  The mass and burial are private for immediate family only. The family is planning a Memorial Luncheon later in June for all to attend to celebrate the life of Mary.

Mary was born in Newark NJ to John and Mary Demsky on 16 April 1925.  She lived through the Great Depression and successfully graduated from West Side High School in Newark NJ during those troubling times.  She went to work at a branch of Prudential Insurance immediately after graduating where she rose to office manager.  Her life changed forever in 1953 when she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Herman Gonski.  She married Herman in 1954 and lived together happily until the time of his death in 2012.  She enjoyed family outings, trips to the beach, and those god-awful casinos.  She returned to work in 1970 and worked at Sterns for over 25 years. Mary was an active member of the Montville Women’s Club for over 20 years. 

Mary is survived by her three children, Barbara (Jeffrey), Mark (Sheryl), and Laura (Mike). Mary was grandmother to Monica, Leah, Keri, Ryan, Michael, Holly, and Nicholas.  She is preceded in death by her husband Herman of 60 years, her loving granddaughter Holly, and all three of her siblings. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.
