Obituary of Eleanor J. Bolan

Eleanor J. Bolan, 89, lifelong resident of Boonton Twp. passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Born in Montville to the late John and Katherine Weglaz. Beloved wife of the late James A. Bolan. Devoted mother of Michael Cecere, Gary Cecere and his wife Denise. Loving grandmother of Matthew and his wife Arielle, Christopher and his wife Danielle, Anthony, Nicholas, Nicole and Garrett. Cherished great grandmother of Gianna. Before retiring Eleanor was an administrative assistant for Morris School District, Morristown. 

Eleanor was truly a special woman. It’s the little things that seem to stand out the most— her love for her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Her selfless acts of kindness for every birthday (which had to be celebrated on the actual day with an icecream cake from Denville Dairy on our signature family birthday table cloth). She gave cards for every holiday, yes even Halloween along with Easter baskets full of candy no matter our ages or how many times we told her nobody liked Peeps. Sitting around the Christmas tree on December 24th usually with Santa dressed up handing out our gifts. It was opening our separate piles noticing every person in the room had similar size packages and unique item. She watched QVC for maybe too many hours. The last little thing which was quite the opposite is how Eleanor put on a true Christmas Miracle through her decorating. She was known for the lady with the brightest house on Sheridan Lane, and boy did she deserve it with a whole team of people that she ruled around in the freezing temperatures. Eleanor was set in her ways and even at an older age still created happiness all around her. She loved seeing hundreds of cars driving by admiring her house, handing out candy to every single trick or treater, artifical flowers indoors and out, the color blue, and vacationing to Wildwood Crest every summer. Eleanor was someone every body could always laugh and smile with.  She was always there to listen, help, and talk. Eleanor always shared love.

Family & friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, 4-8pm in Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton. 

Funeral service will commence on Wednesday, 10am in the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
