Obituary of James Joseph Mariani II

James Joseph “Jay” Mariani, 63, of Frankford Township, passed away at home on December 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Newark, Jay was raised in East Orange and Montville before settling in Frankford Township.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2020, from 2-6 PM

At the Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM, at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 24 Changebridge Rd. Montville, NJ 07045. Interment will follow immediately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 125 Central Avenue, East Orange, NJ 07018.

Jay was the owner/operator of Jay Mariani Construction in Montville, and was a member of the Local 825 Construction Union. In East Orange he was a Boy Scout and Altar server at Our Lady of All Souls Church. Jay was a top wrestler in Montville.

 

Jay is survived by his beloved wife Erin Brady; his children Ashley and her husband Paul, Stephen and James and his fiancee Janine; his granddaughter Giavanna; his caring siblings Donna Feulner (Tom), Elizabeth, Phyllis, Anthony Jr., Maria Bevacqua, Margaret, Michael and Robert; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the family in care of Erin Brady.

 

During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home and Church will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering in groups should not happen.
