Obituary of Henry John Dodge
Henry “Hank” John Dodge, 84, of Boonton
Henry “Hank” John Dodge, 84, of Boonton passed away on April 17, 2019 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on Long Island, Hank moved to Boonton in 1970, where he resided for the remainder of his life.
Prior to his retirement, Hank was a purchasing director for Drake’s Bakery in Wayne, NJ. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957. Hank was an accomplished artist and photographer, and attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
An avid baseball fan, Hank followed the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Mets faithfully, and coached BMLRV little league baseball for several years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 4-8 PM at the Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005. Interment will be held privately at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale NY.
Hank was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth Alice (nee McMahon) and his son Thomas. He is survived by his loving children Barbara Dodge, Christopher Dodge and Timothy (Janine) Dodge; his cherished grandchildren Hayden, Carson and Ethan; and his sister Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Hank’s name to the Boonton Kiwanis First Aid Squad, PO Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005.
