Allison and I were friends from Elementary school , High School, and beyond. She was a special soul and I have extremely fond memories of her and her family. Sitting around her kitchen table laughing and telling jokes. Many fun adventures. I was very sad to hear about her death. Always remembered.

I’m back again; I couldn’t leave this remembrance page with such a sterile biography
of Allison’s life. While I only shared two years with her, the vibrancy of her creative mind,
the simple joy she got from driving her convertible and listening to music and chuckling
with the universe were a joy to behold. I don’t know much about Ally’s high
school life in Boonton but she was a quiet enigma in College with an air of mystery cloaked in
shyness. Both men and women found Ally mysterious and beguiling and were often pleased to
hear her sharp wit under a demurring smile. A graduate of William Paterson University Ally didn’t
engage easily into the world. She found protection and engagement in civil service, probably Shepard into the role by “Big Al”, her dad. While my life moved on after we ended our college
relationship she was always in my thoughts and musings with those that also knew her. We all understood that she struggled with her thoughts and to control whatever inner battles she fought.
I don’t know how successfully she overcame those challenges but the last time I spoke to her she
told me she liked working around the children, that it made her smile... I’m glad that’s the last thing
she said to me. It made me smile. Rest gently Ally.

Allison was a special spirit - I was fortunate to share
a loving relationship with her in our college years and was continually
struck by her sensitivity and inner courage. Ally found the world sometimes
difficult to negotiate in those years and struggled to be at peace with it and
herself, something that always hurt my heart. Her Dad was such a primal force tempered
only by her mom and his own big heart. I’m profoundly sorry she’s passed but am
so glad I talked with her in her last year with us and shared a quiet laugh of
remembrance. She was the “night bird” to me. To Donna and the family my
deepest condolences-

Allison’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.
