Richard A. “Dick” Maloney, 82, of Tannersville, PA
Richard A. “Dick” Maloney, 82, of Tannersville, PA, passed away on March 6, 2018, at his daughter’s residence in Boonton, NJ , with his loving family at his side. He was born in New York City, raised in Far Rockaway, NY and was a graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, Class of 1954.Richard lived in Pequannock, NJ from 1964-1990. He has resided in Tannersville, PA, for the past 30 years. Richard was a 1970 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and in 1973 received his Masters in Electrical Engineering from FDU.
Richard worked for RCA form 1959 -1962, Bell Labs 1962-1977 and Mosler and Metramatic 1978-1998. He retired then and started his own windshield repair business.
Richard proudly served his country in the US Naval Reserve during the 1950’s. He was a 40year member of the Knights of Columbus, part of the Civil Air Patrol in Tobyhanna, PA. Richard loved being a private pilot for more than 40 years, flying his Cessna to Block Island, RI.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late Linda “ nee Beane” Maloney (2012); loving father of Michael Maloney of Boonton and Lorraine Maloney of Boonton. Richard was predeceased by his caring sister Dorothy Lindquist Hausler of Ramsey, NJ in 2007, and his parents, Ruth and Daniel.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church in Boonton. Cremation was private. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005.
